In 1987, Valerie was on ESPN on the televised finale of the Corporate Sports Battle Challenge as a Team Member of ComputerLand Corporate. Think Battle of the Network Stars.
Valerie experienced firsthand the Loma Prieta Earthquake on October 17, 1989, with a magnitude of 6.9, in the Bay Area.
In her late 20’s she spent 3 weeks Backpacking across Europe with her cousin, covering 6 Countries (Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany). They travelled by Euro Rail and stayed in Youth Hostels and/or rooms in local resident’s homes.
Valerie has a passion for Baking and recently won 1st Place in a Royal Icing Cookie Contest with the submission of an adorable Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer decorated cookie.
She traveled Solo to Ireland for a 2-week Bucket List trip to walk in the footsteps of her ancestors. Visiting iconic places like the Cliffs of Mohr and even kissing the Blarney Stone.
She spent the bulk of her career, 25 years, supporting the Founder and Managing General Partner of a Venture Capital firm in San Francisco.
Valerie has two amazing adult children, Nathan & Lauren, and one adorable granddaughter, Sophie, who calls her Omi.
Valerie is the third born of 6 children, all of whom are very close. So much so that when moving to Nevada from California a total of 7 family households relocated to keep the family together.
Growing up, Valerie and her siblings made an annual trip to Camp in Yosemite in the majestic shadow of Half Dome. Unfortunately, since the move to Nevada she hasn’t been back.
In California she belonged to a Quilt Guild that created and donated one-of-a-kind quilts for Pediatric patients and children the Foster Care System.
